SHINY
STARS
Shiny Stars is All Stars Early Years programme which aims to explore the exciting world of children’s creative, whilst developing, learning and having fun.
Shiny Stars
All Star has been working with children, young people and their families across Bradford since 2010. We work on projects and programmes that we’ve co-designed with young people, including our All Star Young Leaders who’ve been instrumental in making real change for under-represented young people across our city.
Using music and creativity to engage, work with and help to build children and young people’s confidence, leadership skills and ignite the creative spark of Bradford’s talented and diverse young people many of whom live in some of our economically deprived areas.
We reach thousands of young people working to change lives in meaningful ways. Our young leaders are at the heart of the organisation. They played an important role in the success of Bradford 2025 and this continues.
But we know there is so much more to do; so many more children and young people to reach and engage with.
Early Years
Shiny Stars is All Stars Early Years programme which aims to explore the exciting world of children’s creative, whilst developing, learning and having fun.

We believe there is an urgent need for those of us working in Early Years to ask ourselves (and other too) how, are children’s creative ambitions and their wellbeing being accounted for.
Learning and Developing
Our practice is constantly developing. Our values are learning-focused and driven.
We want to go on this journey so we can keep improving how we evaluate and reflect on the work we do – being open and honest about what works, and what isn’t.

Shiny Stars is not just a fantastic early years programme, it’s an opportunity to help us understand how the work we do impacts early childhood development longer-term and how working in partnership with others we can:
“Bring about change in Early Years creativity….. and bring about greater understanding and more equity for this marginalised and under-represented group of people.
Child's Voice
We’ve supported our ASYL to use their voices as enshrined in the UN Convention for the Rights of the Child over the last 5 years.

Together the ASYL have:

-
Successfully championed inclusion, equity, diversity and accessibility (IDEA)
-
Raised the profile of the diverse creative children and young people of Bradford
-
Highlighted issues that are affecting them
-
Shone a bright light on their talent and potential.
IDEA – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility
Diversity has always mattered to us at All Star. Together with our ASYL we work creatively to address IDES issues. The track record speaks for itself.

What Shiny Stars offer...
Our weekly sessions are run from the Bolton Woods Centre on a Tuesday 10 am – 12 pm.
At the sessions, we explore the creative world of children’s play and go on an inspiring adventure with them and their parents to learn more about children’s inherent skills as creative and expert communicators.

We are learning how to make Early Years creative sessions more imaginative, fun, developmental and inclusive. We’re constantly working with children and parents who take part in this to co-design the programme via adventurous creative activities, observations, talking, listening and connecting with out children and families to ensure excellence across the whole programme.
