What a summer it’s been.
Over four weeks, Allstar worked in partnership with Bell Well Connected to deliver our summer Holiday Activities and Food programme, giving children and young people the chance to get out, try new things, learn, create and enjoy time together.
There were some brilliant days out along the way. We visited the National Science and Media Museum, Royal Armouries, Railway Museum and JORVIK Viking Centre, with each trip offering something different to explore. From science and media to transport and history, there was plenty to see, talk about and learn from.
We also spent time closer to home, with community fun days in Bolton Woods and Clearmount Park in Wrose. These were a great chance for local children, young people and families to come together, enjoy activities and make the most of the summer.
Music was another big part of the programme. Our DJ and music-making sessions gave young people the opportunity to have a go themselves, explore lyric writing and get creative with their own ideas.
And throughout it all, there was plenty of tasty, healthy food to keep everyone going.
For us, HAF is about much more than filling the school holidays. It’s about giving young people experiences they can enjoy, helping them discover new interests, spending time with friends and making memories.
After four busy weeks, we’re already looking ahead to Winter HAF and the chance to continue the programme.
The Holiday Activities and Food programme is supported by the Department for Education through Bradford Council.
