Building Self-Awareness: New Resources for Children's Mental Health Week

Allstar Admin

This Children's Mental Health Week, the Healthy Minds apprentices are excited to launch a new resource designed to help children explore the concept of self-awareness! Aligned with the theme of "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself," this initiative uses the acronym SELF to guide children through various aspects of their inner world:

  • Senses: How do you experience the world around you through your senses?

  • Experiences: What are your past experiences and how do they shape who you are?

  • Learning: How do you learn and grow? What are your strengths and weaknesses?

  • Feelings: How do you identify and manage your emotions?

These workshops will be delivered throughout Bradford and Craven, providing a safe and engaging space for children to explore their SELF.

Building a Supportive Community

In addition to the workshops, there's a special event planned to celebrate Children's Mental Health Week:

  • Take the Mic 2: What is a Healthy Mind?

  • Date: Wednesday, February 5th, 2025

  • Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Location: Common Space, Bradford, BD1 3JT

Join us for an inspiring evening of creativity and mental health awareness! This unique event, hosted by a collaborative effort of local organisations, provides a platform for young people to share their mental health journeys through various art forms like music, poetry, rap, and more.

Featuring talented young musicians from the Allstar Youth Music project, Take the Mic 2 will showcase the power of creativity in supporting mental well-being.

This event aims to:

  • Empower young people through self-expression

  • Highlight the importance of mental health support

  • Promote open conversations about mental health

The Healthy Minds website (www.healthyminds.services) will also be highlighted as a valuable resource for children and young adults seeking mental health support in Bradford District and Craven.

This Children's Mental Health Week, let's work together to create a supportive environment where children feel empowered to explore their self-awareness and build healthy minds!
