An exciting new radio station is set to launch in Bradford and Leeds, managed and run by young people aged 13-25. Allstar Youth Radio will broadcast on DAB+ digital radio, reaching listeners across the two cities.
The young people involved in the radio station recently took part in a broadcast training course, where they learned about broadcast law, presenting skills, digital storytelling, and how to set up and use microphones, mixing desks, and live streaming content.
Allstar Youth Radio aims to give young people a platform to express themselves and share their stories, as well as to learn new skills and gain experience in the media industry.
The station is due to launch in autumn 2023, and will broadcast a variety of content, including music, news, current affairs, and entertainment shows. Allstar Youth Radio will also provide young people with the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of radio production, from presenting and interviewing to producing and editing.
The launch of Allstar Youth Radio is a welcome addition to the media landscape in Bradford and Leeds. The station will provide a platform for young people to have their voices heard, and will also help to develop the next generation of media professionals.
